A Tree Doesn't Grow In Boston

If any of you folks are familiar with "The Big Dig" you'll know that Boston, MA has seamingly spent oodles of money on this project and has had nothing but problems. The new tunnel leaks, people are stealing money, yada yada yada, nothing but problems. Well this morning on my drive to work I hear of one more problem. Apparently the "Green Way" which is the piece of land where the Central Artery used to be and is supposed to be a pretty park, has problems with the depth of soil in certain sections. Meaning, no trees will be planted there.

So here's a pretty picrture of the way it's supposed to look:

But here is how it's actually going to look:
Naaa, just kiddin.... here is what is supposed to happen:
As you can see there is going to be quite the large chunk of land with no trees. Should look pretty stupid. GO BIG DIG! Hey here's a thought, put down more soil.

For all you historians out there, that image in the middle above is from the Library of Congress, specifically Gettysburg, PA. view of Little Round Top, June - July 1863.

Have a great weekend everyone.
