One year later

This past weekend was my one year anniversary being married to my lovely wife Lauren. Specifically Sunday was our one year, but we celebrated all weekend long.

We started off the weekend Friday evening by eating dinner at The Red Fez in Boston’s South End. They have great Middle Eastern food and we decided to be adventurous and try the Red Fez Feast, which is a five course tasting menu of the chef’s selection. That’s right FIVE courses! Here is what we tried to eat (I say try, because there was a LOT of food).

Course One:
Olives
Hummus
Whipped feta and garlic
Lentil and Apricot Coulis

Course Two:
Falafel
Merguez Sausage
Chicken Almond Brik

Course Three:
Giant salad

Course Four:
Chicken and lamb skewers
Duck
Potato

Course Five:
Red Fez Cookies – Ma’Mul, Burma, Date and Fig Ma’mul
Baklava

So needless to say we didn’t finish everything in one sitting, but we tried and it was all goooood!

Next on our weekend of fun we decided as a gift we’d budget some money for the both of us to refresh our wardrobes a little bit. That was fun, especially because I was in need of some new socks and jeans. Then that evening we went out to dinner with friends Brendan and Gavin for Indian food at Diva in Davis Square.

Then we finished off our whirl wind weekend by Lauren running in a 5K in Somerville Sunday morning. Go Lauren! Better you than me, I’m not a very “strong” runner.

In all we had a very fun weekend and I just wanted to say thank you to all our well wishers.

I've said it once, I'll say it again - I just don't think it's going to last.
